Spirit

We are people of the Spirit. God is Spirit (John 4:24). Being born again (John 3:3, 5-8) we no longer live for our selves, but for Christ (Galatians 2:20). Living for Christ means following wherever He leads, which requires us to keep in step with Spirit (Galatians 5:25) and be led by the Spirit (Romans 8:14).

As we follow Jesus, through the counsel, leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit (John 14:15-17, 25-27, 1 John 2:20) we help others discover this same freeing power available to them so that they too may walk in the fullness of the Spirit.

Unity

John 17:22-23 gives us Jesus’s words, as he is praying for us: “I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one- I in them and you in me- so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Scripture tell us much more about God’s desire for unity among His children and our interaction with the world, but more than any place we believe gives the highest calling and impact as a result- Jesus himself praying that we would be in complete unity, and the outward flow of that unity is the world knowing that God sent Jesus. We will be people of unity, and then the world will know.

Discipleship

This is our mission- commanded by Jesus. Matthew 28:18-20, then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We are committed to full time, unreserved disciple making.

We also believe that pure Biblical discipleship naturally expresses evangelism also- for Jesus told his followers, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19).
